Fun with Granparents Mac

Jonah had a great afternoon playing with his Grandparents Macaluso & Aunt Rachel!

As we got ready for bathtime, he spotted his preschool backpack and insisted on trying it on and practicing for his first day of school tomorrow. I asked if he was ready to go to school and he said, "Skoo" and shook his head yes. Now, if only Mommy was ready.

St. Patrick's Playdate

Jonah & I hosted a St. Patrick's playdate for our friends in our North Dallas 2007 Babies Meetup group. We had a great turnout, and it was so fun to see all the kids dressed in green. Jonah & have have been so blessed by this group - such wonderful friends we have made! I am very sad to go back to work and miss out on all the fun we have had with this group. I know that we will stay in touch though!

"Melmo"

I have heard of other toddlers' obsession with Elmo, but I had yet to experience it.... until now. Jonah has never been interested in the TV, but when he got a nasty stomach bug last week, all he wanted to do is snuggle. So, to pass the time, we watched Sesame Street. Jonah quickly decided he did not care anything about the show unless Elmo was on. If he goes off the screen, he yells "Melmo" and grabs the remote to try and fast forward - isn't is amazing kids understand the concept of a DVR? Yesterday, Jonah woke up first thing talking about "Melmo". I caved after I caught these shots. How could I say no????

The Office

Many of you have heard, so I will keep it brief so I will not cry too much tonight. Pete & I have been offered an opportunity to save for Jonah's future and for the future of Baby Mac #2 to be one day. It's a job opportunity at AMPAD that I start on March 23rd. (Let "The Office" jokes begin). I will be the Product Brand Manager on their Marketing team managing their current line of paper products and developing new innovations. It's a great fit with my background in Marketing and a good opportunity to further my career and prepare for the future of our family. We found an amazing preschool for Jonah that is on our way to work (we will both be in Richardson & this place is in Allen) - Creme de la Creme. When we visited, Jonah was ready to jump out of my arms and play - it is a very inviting, fun environment that fits well with his personality. It will be a challenging transition for us, so your prayers are much appreciated. I plan to take him for a few hours in the days leading up to the 23rd so he gets more comfortable. Our decision was not made lightly, but with much talking & prayer.

OK. Change of subject! Here is a cute pic of Jonah last week that makes me smile. :)

Mini Mel or Mini Pete?

Jonah has always been Mini Pete - he really looks so much like his daddy! My sister remembered a picture of me though that reminded her of Jonah - what do you think? A little Mini Mel too? Compare with the 1st pic in the previous post....

Na-nas

Jonah has been really into bananas lately , and anytime we are at a store and he see them, he yells (loudly) - "Na-nas!!!". I try to avoid the produce until the end of our trips for this reason. :) I found some mini bananas, and we captured a few cute pics of him eating one last weekend.

Maegen & Madeline Visit!

One of my best friends since junior high (Maegen) has been in town from San Diego for a few weeks with her precious daughter Madeline. Jonah & I have had a lot of fun spending time with them! They are exactly a year apart (share the same b-day), and it's so neat to remember what Jonah was like this time last year. Time has really flown by!

Busy Thursday

Jonah had a busy Thursday last week (2/12) with a morning playdate at the mall with his buddy Weston, then another playdate with his buddies Vince, Noah, & Ana that afternoon. Then, Daddy came home and he learned how to crawl on the couch all by himself!

Happy Birthday, Dad

Today would have been my dad's 55th birthday. Jonah & I sang "Happy Birthday" to him this morning. He loves singing that song, so I sang it twice. We spent the rest of the day with my sister Melissa and thought about our dad a lot.

I love you & miss you, Dad! You would be so proud of how strong of women you raised and what an awesome grandson you have. I know you are celebrating today in heaven, and that makes me smile.
